“The Norman Rockwell Experience” at Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA

The historic Red Lion Inn invites visitors to step into the painting of one of America’s most beloved artists in Stockbridge with the “Norman Rockwell Experience” package, available through May 24, 2018. The package includes overnight accommodations, a $50 dining credit per room, per night and two passes to the Norman Rockwell Museum per night where guest can get an up-close look at the work of Rockwell and others who defined American illustration. Rates start at $217 per room mid-week ¾ taxes and meal gratuity not included.

 

All year-round, travelers can dine on delectable farm-to-table cuisine offered at the Red Lion Inn’s Main Dining Room and Widow Bingham’s Tavern. The Inn’s new winter menus showcase local farm-to-table options such as and Braised Lila’s Lamb from long-time Berkshire farmer Lila Berle, with Truffle Butter Risotto and Smoked Farm Girl Farm Tomato Sauce from Sheffield, MA or the Equinox Farm Spinach and Berlberg Cheese Quiche, made with spinach from Equinox Farm in Sheffield, MA.

Located in Stockbridge, the Norman Rockwell Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of Rockwell art and also offers visitors a look at renowned special collections such as bestselling author and illustrator Tony DiTerlizzi’s Never Abandon Imagination, on display now until May 28, 2018. Beginning in February the Gloria Stoll Karn: Pulp Romance exhibit opens, paying tribute to one the first and few female illustrators working during the ‘40s to create illustrations and covers for romance or dime store magazines. This museum was my first introduction to art as a small child and a must see for everyone!

“MASS MoCA” at Porches Inn at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA

Stay just steps away from the mecca of art and culture that is MASS MoCA in 19th Century Victorian row homes at the Porches Inn, where retro-industrial architecture blends with paint-by-number pictures and vintage TV lamps to create a whimsical, granny-chic stay.
