Why Choose San Francisco For A Family Trip

We love San Francisco! It’s a fantastic place to visit for people of all ages. However, if you are looking for a family vacation spot, San Francisco is for you. In fact, San Francisco has many attractions, activities, and events that are geared towards a younger audience. This makes it a fantastic spot for vacationing families. You can even read all about the best things to do in the post below.

Sea Lion Center – Pier 39

One of the most fun things you can do with the kids in San Fran is to take them along to Pier 39. This is because it is the site of a Sea Lion Centre. A place where many of these magnificent beats bask in the sun.

Of course, sea lions are pretty hefty creatures, so there is no interaction for visitors. Although you can see them clearly, and hear them bark as well. You can take the family to learn more about the species in the adjacent visitor center.

Exploratorium – Pier 15

The Exploratorium is another location that families will want to make a beeline to during their visit. This is because it is a museum but with a significant difference. That difference is that everything can be explored and interacted with, making it perfect for curious kids. Don’t miss the Tornado and Inflatable exhibits for lots of family-friendly fun!

The Walt Disney Family Museum

While it’s not quite the full experience you can get in the park further down the state in LA, the Walt Disney Family Museum is well worth a visit. In fact, if you are a fan of the parks or any other part of the franchise for that matter, you can learn a great deal from the exhibits there. They even have a scale model of the park, and some of the earliest art and memorabilia to view, making it an excellent choice for families.

Museum of Illusion

Another place full of magic and so perfect for the whole family to visit is the interactive museum that is the MoI. The magic comes from the very amusing scenes and exhibits that are designed for visitors to pose and take pictures in.

Of course, there aren’t your run of the mill pictures. In fact, visit this location, and you will be able to have your photo taken as a fairy with a giant, or on a magic carpet ride over the Golden Gate Bridge. All without having the leave the confines of the museum.

For parents traveling with kids, investing in the tripod so you can all be in the photos together is a great one too. One that means you will get some lasting memories to take home with you.

Magowan’s Infinite Mirror Maze

Finally, if you are taking the kids on a break to San Francisco, you cannot miss the crazy attraction that is Magowan’s Infinite Mirror Maze. Something like a cross between an old-time funhouse and a cyberpunk dystopia the maze is a wonderfully weird experience for kids and adults alike. You can even often get vouchers on coupons sites which makes entry for the entire family a real bargain!
