Science Fun with Camp Warner Bros Week 2 and Steven Universe: The Movie

We had a blast with week 2 of Camp Warner Bros! This week was about science fun and Steven Universe: The Movie. This week wasn’t the nicest weather-wise so having a fun indoor activity was great. The activity for this week was rock candy, something we’ve never actually done before! It’s super easy too.. all you need is sugar, water and a few household items!

This is an activity that must be done with an adult (sugar burns are no fun). It was pretty easy but you need to have a little bit of patience. The longer you leave it the more crystals you’ll “grow”! Kids love watching the “crystals” grow. We let it go for a few days because it’s super humid here this summer. If the water doesn’t evaporate the crystals can’t grow.

Your rock candy isn’t going to be perfect but it’s fun and kids love sugar so…. win! When we pulled it out of the candy solution we let it dry for a little bit to save from stickiness. The directions are below so you can make your own rock candy! Enjoy your candy while you’re watching the all new Steven Universe: The Movie now available to own on digital!
