I love to read to my kids and I love when they are excited about reading. It’s one of our favorite things to do together as a family. We read every night before bed (and various times throughout the day). The especially love when they see their name in books..especially Monster who can actually spell his name.

Hallmark has a new line of customizable personalized books. There are a wide variety of stories to pick from and they are perfect just in time for the holidays. I chose to make a super hero book because we are super into all things super hero. The process for personalizing was really easy. You just picked the gender, hair and eye color and name. You are able to see the whole book before you buy it and see if it’s right for you. They even have a holiday line.

When the book came in I was impressed at the quality. It was a hard cover book with the personalized book cover. The pages are thick which is great for repeated reading. Monster loves his book and hasn’t put it down. He was so excited when he saw his name on the cover and the little boy in the super hero cape that “looks like me!” He brought it to school to show all his friends and loves telling everyone that he is a super hero. I love seeing him so excited about a book. Literacy is so important for children and I’m glad that personalizing a book helps to foster his love of reading!
