Kid Friendly Cooking Made Easy

Healthy Recipes Your Kids Will Actually Love

Teaching your children to eat healthy from a young age is one of the most important things you can do. Many people give up trying and let their kids eat “kid food” such as chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. While those foods aren’t harmful in moderation, they don’t have the nutritional value they require to sustain a healthy diet for your little ones. If you want to find some healthy recipes your kids won’t snub their noses at, here are some kid-friendly recipes that your children will enjoy eating.

Tuna Casserole

Tuna casserole is healthy, delicious, and it’s easy to make. It’s made with tuna, egg noodles, and cheddar cheese. You can also mix in some veggies such as corn, peas, and spinach. If your kids are even picky about those vegetables, the cheese will mask most of the taste. There are a few different ways to make the tuna casserole. Campbell’s soup makes it nice and creamy. You can use cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, or cream of cheddar.

All you need to do is cook the egg noodles and pour the cooked noodles in a bowl. Mix in canned tuna, corn, peas, and the Campbell’s soup of your choice. The soup is condensed to mix it with a can of milk first. You can use a little less than a can to make it creamier. Once everything is mixed together with your desired amounts, pour it into a casserole dish. Sprinkle some cheddar cheese on top and then top with a layer of seasoned breadcrumbs. Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes or until it’s hot.

Healthy Cheese Steak Subs

Cheese steak subs are amazing, but they’re often filled with greasy, overly-processed meat. You can make them with a higher nutritional value with minimal effort. Put a few boneless steaks in your slow cooker and cook them on low all day. By dinner time they will shred easily. Once the beef is ready, sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese over it and put the lid back on your slow cooker until it’s melted. Next, cook some sweet peppers and yellow onions in a skillet with some olive oil until they’re soft. On a whole-wheat sub roll, spread on some natural mayonnaise. Hamptoncreek garlic Just Mayo is a great option for cheese steaks. Add the cheesy steak and peppers, and then you have a delicious and healthy sub.

Veggie Quesadillas

Quesadillas are fun and delicious, but they don’t hold much nutritional value. Add some vegetables to them to add some much-needed vitamins. The vegetables will be smothered with cheese are your kids are more likely to eat them. You can add whichever vegetables you want. Some good options include tomato, onion, squash, sweet peppers, and mushrooms. Before you add the vegetables to the tortillas, cook them in a skillet with some olive oil until they’re soft. Lay out a tortilla and add a layer of sliced cheddar, a layer of mixed vegetables, and then another layer of sliced cheddar. Put another tortilla on top.

In a new skillet, melt enough butter to fry the tortillas in. Fry each side on medium heat until the tortilla is a light golden color and the cheese is melted inside. Cut into triangles and then serve with sour cream for dipping.

Beef Stroganoff

Beef stroganoff is an amazing and simple dish. It has a sauce that will even make kids want to lick their plate clean. There are a few different ways to make both the beef and the sauce. Some people cook stew meat in a pan, but it tends to make the beef difficult to chew. If you want your beef to melt in your mouth and shred nicely, put it in the crockpot in the morning and let it cook all day. Some people use cream of mushroom soup for the sauce, but some kids won’t eat it and it’s not as good as the alternative. You can find beef stroganoff seasoning packets at the store with the other packets of seasoning.

To make the beef stroganoff sauce, all you need is a seasoning packet and a 16-ounce container of sour cream. The last ingredient you need for your meal is egg noodles. Once your beef is finished, boil your egg noodles until they’re cooked. Drain and set aside. Mix the seasoning with your sour cream and add it to your cooked beef. If your family likes mushrooms, it’s the perfect vegetable to add to your stroganoff. Just cook mushrooms in a skillet until they’re soft and add it to your beef mixture. Serve your egg noodles with the beef mixture on top.

Making healthy, kid-friendly dinners can be difficult at first, but it just takes some practice. Try these meals and you will begin coming up with plenty more that your kids love.
