Orlando and theme parks are probably one of the first things that come to mind, with the good weather and beaches coming after that. But let’s face it, theme parks aren’t everyone’s idea of a good time. The good news is that there are plenty of other options for you to go on a trip to Florida that doesn’t involve a theme park. They can be fun, but they can cost a lot, and you can still have fun in Florida without hopping on a ride. So here are some of the places to go and things to do.

Orlando

Yes, there are other things in Orlando that don’t involve a theme park. It also offers plenty of choices for shopping, some great food and restaurants, and plenty of nightlife. If you like to enjoy some culture, then there are also plenty of art galleries, a big art scene, and gardens. It is a really family-friendly city too.

Panama City Beach

If you want to head to the north of the state, then it is home to Panama City, which is full of a variety of different hotels, restaurants, and various attractions, all set with the backdrop of some stunning white sands. In peak summer and spring break season, this place can be quite packed full. But if you want to see some of the Florida sunshine in its best form, then you can enjoy it by the beach, and also by boat.

Miami

If you think of Miami, what kind of thing comes to mind? If you are imagining palm trees lining the streets, bars, beaches, casinos, and shops, then you’re not too far off. But there are plenty of other things on offer in this vibrant city. The Florida Keys

The chain of islands known as the Florida Keys are linked by one single road, making it a great spot for a road trip as it really is unlike any other. There are beautiful sandy beaches, tasty cocktails, and the area is most famous for its key lime pie. It is a must for a place to really go and relax, with fishing being one of the biggest things that you will do there. Scuba diving and snorkeling are other things that are great to do there, with the only living coral reef in the US, right there in the Keys.

St. Pete and Clearwater

You can’t get too far from the beaches of Florida, and carrying on with that theme, a couple of hours drive from Orlando, you’ll find the beautiful St. Pete and Clearwater areas of the state. They are seafront towns, that are really chilled out, and they are great for families. The water is clear, hence the name I guess, and the sand is clean and bright.
