The Dazzling Darkness book Review

I was given a chance to read and review “The Dazzling Darkness” by Paula Cappa and it did not disappoint. As a busy mom I don’t often get time to myself to read but I do love when I get the chance. This book sounded exactly like something I’d want to read. A supernatural story with bits of historical fiction to bring it closer to reality.

This story opens with a lost little boy. Henry Brooke went missing while walking home from the bus stop with his older sister. The frantic search continues as supernatural qualities about the boys disappearance come to light. As his parents continue to look for him this story twists and turns in very unexpected ways. The ending was surprising but fitting.

The setting of this story is Concord, Massachusetts. I love reading stories set in my home state. I feel it brings you closer into the story. The setting of the story allows the author to bring in Emerson and Transcendentalism. With this historical reference, science, religion and supernatural, this book paints a fantastic picture and draws you in.

The characters are well developed and thought out the plot is engaging and the overall book is very well done. As a parent, stories of missing children are particularly hard for me to get through. However, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

“The Dazzling Darkness” sounds like a really good read. I’m a big Stephen King fan, so I’m all about the New England setting and supernatural elements. I’ll have to check this one out.

I know they say you can’t judge a book by its cover, but I think sometimes you can. In this case, the book’s cover looks really cool and interesting- definitely an eye catcher. Also, the book sounds suspenseful and mysterious, something just for me!

I think I don’t have the courage to read a book with a story of missing children but you said that it has a twist. I hope that’s a positive outcome. I ‘m a tear jerker and will cry hard if something bad happened to the boy.

Oh wow, a lost child is my biggest fear. I get anxiety just thinking about it. But I will probably read this book anyway. I love reading, and it is hard to find something good sometimes. Thanks for sharing.
