Stop Spending So Much Of Your Life Doing Housework

Are you finally getting fed up with having to continuously do all of the housework? Do you feel like you don’t get to enjoy the rewards of your work for too long before you find yourself doing it all over again? There’s no reason that any of us should be spending the majority of our days doing so much housework. Here, we’re going to look at some more house hacks to ensure you’re not spending all day, every day doing the housework.

Have an organized plan of attack

Sometimes, it’s not just a matter of how much work you have to do, but how efficiently you are able to do it, as well. Take a look at some of the organizational changes you can make to ensure that tidying up the house isn’t quite as taxing and time-consuming as it usually is. This can include making sure you spend a set amount of time, such as 30 minutes, on each room every day instead of trying to get multiple rooms a little more cleaned up every day.

Incentivize your kids to help out

If your kids can walk and pick up things, then they’re ready to help out a little. When it comes to chores, you want to make sure everyone is doing things that match their ability. A five-year-old shouldn’t be doing much more than picking their toys up off the floor, for instance. However, it’s important to learn how to incentivize them to help out as well. If you haven’t made chores a household habit, then you might want to look at tying it to their allowances, for instance.

Know when to outsource

There are certain tasks that are too big and too strenuous. You might be able to get them done, but without professional-level equipment, it’s going to take you so much longer to the point that the opportunity cost is greater than the actual cost of simply hiring someone to take care of it. From pressure washing to cleaning the gutters, know when you’re outmatched by a chore ahead of you. You can enjoy peace of mind a lot easier when you know to open your purse instead of taking the entire day to do something that someone else can get done in minutes.

Make it less necessary

Aside from getting the help you need and being better organized about how and when you work, you can also implement a few changes so that you don’t need to do quite as much work as before. For instance, you can decrease how much gardening you have to do with things like an automated lawnmower or a sprinkler system. Meanwhile, in the home, having a temporary hamper in each room can mean that you can quickly tidy clutter into them to organize later.

All too often, it’s simply assumed that mommy is going to be doing the lion’s share of the housework when it could easily be better organized and arranged amongst the whole family. Hopefully, the tips above help you do that.
