Sadly Summer is winding down and we are starting to talk about Back To School. This year will be the first year I send one of my kiddos off to school. The Monster is starting Kindergarten and I have mixed emotions about this for sure. The one thing I am sure about is wanting to send him with healthy choices in his lunch bag. He’s almost six and veggies are not his favorite thing. He and I have had epic standoffs over veggies but that is a story for another day. He has always liked purees so I know I can get him to eat healthy stuff if I can pack him a great puree. Thankfully, we got to try these amazing new fruit and vegetable purees from Pure Spoon.
What is Pure Spoon?”
Pure Spoon, a mom-owned, start-up from Austin, Texas. Made from fresh, certified organic produce –– that remains raw or is lightly steamed –– Pure Spoon purees are served in 4.2 oz. single-serve containers; so you can pop them in your purse, lunchbox or work tote and snack on them whenever and wherever. Because we use the entire fruit and vegetable –– both juice and fiber –– and HPP instead of high-heat pasteurization, Pure Spoon has better nutrition and flavor.
Pure Spoon is available in eleven flavors. They are in recyclable 4 .2 oz. containers (better for the environment!). The flavors include: Spinach, Pear, & Banana • Sweet Potato & Apples • Creamy Avocado & Pears • Carrots & Zucchini • Blueberry, Banana & Apples • Simply Carrots • Apples & Broccoli • Butternut Squash, Apples & Oats • Creamy Avocado & Apples • Simply Pears • Simply Apples.
We tried all the flavors and while we liked them all we definitely had some clear favorites. Simply Apple was my favorite of the bunch. It had a pure, crisp apple taste that I loved. I really enjoyed the Sweet Potato & Apple as well. There weren’t any that I didn’t care for but my kids definitely leaned towards the fruit flavors (not surprised). Monster loved the Avocado flavors and I was really happy with that. These would be great to use in baking if there were extra…but the kiddos are making quick work of them for snacks!
Pure Spoon is currently available in: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia. You can find a location near you on the Pure Spoon website.

My favorite BTS snack is any type of fruit for my daughter – fruit pouches, dried fruit, applesauce etc.
Veggies and hummus, or dried fruit and hard boiled eggs.
That treat looks healthy
Delicious!
Any organic food is bound to taste delicious. Can’t wait to feed my nephew these!!
