Disclosure: We were given a copy of this book to facilitate a review. However, all opinions are my own.
Peas and Hambone Versus The Flesh-Eating Zombie Gorillas is exactly as it sounds from the title. It is a fantastic story about a ten year old boy named Peas and his dog Hambone. Hambone isn’t an ordinary dog though. When they are alone Hambone turns into a feisty ten year old boy the shares adventures, and trouble, with the quieter Peas.
This adventure starts with the boys sneaking into the zoo and stumbling upon the evil Dr Gorilla feeding a zombie transformation potion to a group of gorillas. The boys then have to find the antidote and save everyone from the flesh eating zombie gorillas.
If you have a young reader in your home this book was made for them. My 9 year old nephew loved this book. From the colorful descriptions and the point of view of a ten year old, this book is perfect for younger readers. I’d say the perfect age would be 9-12 year olds. Obviously the subject matter is a little darker so it’s totally a parental call. However, I found it funny and perfect for that age group…..especially boys.

Oh my, that looks like a very interesting read. I will have to look into reading that myself.
I will have to check this out thanks!
To be honest I am terrified of zombies.. so zombie gorillas is my worst nightmare. However I respect that this sounds like the perfect book for anyone who isn’t a big baby like myself!
Zombies are not for me haha, but I have a younger cousin who would probably love this book. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like a book my daughter would love to read! Thanks for sharing!
I can so see my husband loving this one! lol
Sometimes it is hard to find books that fit a pre-teen boys interest. This one looks fun!
What a cute book!
My 12 year old would love this book.
Thanks for posting this review – My grandson is 12 and sometimes it is hard to find books that will encourage him to read ‘on his own’
