I recently started looking into the benefits of aromatherapy and essential oils. I have always loved how essential oils smelled. There is something about the pure and clean smell that you just can’t duplicate. I’ve been stuck buying sprays and oils in stores for years and I just didn’t like the fake smell they gave off. Luckily, I found an amazing online store that makes their own oils and sprays. Over the Moon makes amazing products and I couldn’t have gotten through the first few months with my Lovebug without their “Baby Moon Oil”.
Well, while I’m way to busy to make my own stuff regularly, I have always wanted to give it a try. I love the smell of lavender (and it’s the essential oil I have on hand right now). I wanted to try combining it with the Fractionated Coconut Oil and see how it came out. The extremely simple recipe is below.
Lavender Massage Oil
I used a small new 4oz bottle.
10 drops of lavender essential oil
4oz of Fractionated Coconut Oil
I combined them in the small bottle. Mixed and that was it! The oil was light and I liked the moisture it provided for my still angry winter skin. I can imagine that other oils would be much greasier but I like the silky feeling of this oil. I was pleasantly surprised with my finished product. Not too bad for my first try. I’m not the best DIY person. I want to be but for now I’m going to leave it to the professionals.
