The air if finally cooler and when you walk outside you know. There is something about it. You can just feel that fall is here. I love this time of year. To me, Fall weather is perfect. It is cool enough for jeans and hoodies but not cold. Perfection.
Here in New England, Fall never seams to last long enough. Before you know it, Winter sneaks in to wreck everything. This year I’ve decided to make a Fall Bucket List and try and make the most of these few short months!
1) Apple Picking. This is a must not only for the delicious apples but for the experience itself. This will be my love bugs first year apple picking. I can’t wait to see her running through the orchard biting apples. If you are in Massachusetts you can check mass.gov for pick your own farms.
2)Playing in the leaves . I have to say that this is one of my favorite fall activities for photo opps. The colors are perfect and make for unbelievable pictures. Bonus…it’s free!
3)Pumpkin Picking . Last year was the first year we went pumpkin picking. We took a trolley ride to a field where we “picked” our pumpkins. It was cute and the ride out was half the fun. We want to try out Echo Hill Orchard this year. This is where I went when I was young and I’m hoping it’s worth the drive for some yummy donuts. Super Bonus….it’s a winery! Score for mommy time?
4)Fall Fairs and Festivals. These are everywhere this season. The fair food and expensive rides are totally worth it. I am lucky enough to in the town that hosts on of the biggest fall fairs in the country. The Big E is an awesome experience for the whole family. It’s educational and fun. Not to mention the FANTASTIC food. If you’re not in the area find a fair near you and enjoy some family time!
5) Enjoy the outside while you can! It doesn’t take much. Go for a walk to a park. Enjoy a playground or just have a picnic. Soak up as much of the outside as you can before Old Man Winter crashes the party.
I think that’s plenty of fun packed Fall activities to create a memorable Fall season!
Have fun!
Oh I LOVE Fall! Being a Floridian, I don’t quite experience it as you do, but this is my favorite time of year, because it’s the beginning of all of the many fun things to come! It doesn’t necessarily get cooler for me yet, :tear: but knowing it’s on the brink brings the best kind of anticipation! Someone should come up with a Florida Fall Bucket list… It would go something like this:
1. Get your beach on while you can – in between the hurricanes…
2. Instead of the pumpkin patch, go to the craft store and buy new Funkins to decorate ๐
3. Watch football from the comfort of your air conditioned living room.
4. Prepare mentally for all of the snowbirds who will be arriving and jamming our roads even more. (I say this with LOVE!)
I’m sure there are funnier people out there who could add to this list ๐ But you get the idea ๐ Enjoy the beginnings of fall for me!
My toddler loves the outdoors, even in crummy weather. I am going to make a fall bucket list, so that I am more intentional about playing outside with him.
We have plans to go to roger Williams zoo in October.they have giant pumpkin carving viewing done by artists all lit up for a walk through the park at dark.
I love that Zoo. You’ll have a great time!
I’ve never been apple picking, but we did make it to the farm store. I think it’d be fun to actually pick the apples, then buy a few crates to can (which I’ve canned sauce before).
Great list!
I want to head to a pumpkin patch and a corn maze! Those are on my list.
We have so many things we want to do this fall too. Hopefully I can fit them all in!
This is a great bucket list for the fall. I am looking forward to sharing these ideas with my family and then crossing the items off one by one.
apple picking is so much fun. I definitely want to spend more time with my girls.
I love fall too, but I know winter is right behind it… blahh! I love your bucket list for this season, so much fun packed into a few short months. We did a list for summer and I’m working on our list for the fall. ๐
I agree with you, I plan on enjoying the outdoors for as long as possible. This is especially true since they are predicting a horrible winter in New York City this year.
what a beautiful family! i love apple picking! xo, jess @ dreamingofleaving.com
Thank you!
I love fall! Such a beautiful season! I need to make our family fall bucket list!
We will definitely go pumpkin picking and hit up a corn maze this year!
I love this time of year too. Granted Florida and the midwest have different definitions of cooler weather, but glad you are enjoying it.
I love the idea of having a fall bucket list! How fun! We definitely want to get some hikes in!
Fall is my favorite season. This Fall I am determined to go and see the leaves changing in upstate New York.
I love this idea. Thanks!
I love fall! We didn’t make it to the pumpkin patch this year, but I think we have done everything else on the list!
