I run a small preschool and we love coloring eggs for Easter. However, we have a couple children with an egg allergy this year and it’s not worth the risk to dye traditional eggs. While decorating flat paper eggs was our previous go-to, it’s not really the same. With eggnots we can have a fun Easter themed craft without the risk of a reaction. Originally I was a tad worried about using ceramic eggs with a group of four year olds (graceful and gentle are not their strongest traits) but eggnots are surprisingly durable. They were dropped more than once without cracking or breaking.
Decorating eggnots was simple. The packages come with dye recipes that work best with these eggs. You can use regular dye kits but they don’t recommend it (doesn’t achieve the bright color). My seven year old did a couple with permenant markers and they came out great! The options are endless with these “eggs”. The best part? You don’t have to worry about them going bad. We sent them home as keepsakes that can be used for decorations year after year.
