Andrew & Polly’s new album of quirky, eclectic and fun tunes embedded in brisk, brainy repartee, Ear Snacks: Songs from the Podcast, was released on September 30th.
The first season of the podcast — over seven hours of free content for children and their families — includes interviews with more than 60 kids and 35 adult experts along with an original score and a slew of genre-busting Andrew & Polly songs. Now the duo presents a selection of music from the first season, re-contextualized on Ear Snacks: Songs from the Podcast. The album of fourteen expertly produced tunes ranges from introspective and insightful to anthemic and absurd, delivering addictive earworms and surprises around every corner.
Ear Snacks: Songs from the Podcast kicks off with “Dancing Pants,” based on the true-to-life tale of a pair of pants that were so incredibly sparkly they needed their own horn section. “Dancing Pants” features Andrew & Polly’s L.A. neighbor, the incomparable Mista Cookie Jar, whose rap makes the song “next level cuckoo.”
Our Thoughts
We love Andrew & Polly. They are an amazing duo that have a great fun and funky sound for kiddos. My class loves their podcasts mostly because of the kids they feature. I love that they give kids their own voice and treat them with equal importance as the adults on their podcast. Even though season one has ended, you can catch up on their podcast on their website. The new album is fantastic and features all our favorites from the podcast. It’s great to pop on in the car for a fun family “concert” while we are driving! Check out their album on Amazon today!
