Thirty Scary Tales Book Review

It’s October and to me that means Halloween! In my house we decorate and break out the horror flicks. I love scary stories and Horror is my favorite genre. Taking time to read is very important in my life and when I get the time I like to be scared. It was perfect that I got to review this book during Halloween season!

“Thirty Scary Tales” by Rayne Hall is great for someone who wants to read a thriller but doesn’t have that much time. I loved that I could read a couple short stories at a time. The stories were excellent. They were well written and each of the stories had a “twist” at the end that I loved.

My absolute favorite in the book was a short story called “Greywalker”. This story is about a dying man who goes to a witch to extend his life. He had walked out on his wife thirty years earlier and wanted to make amends before he dies. The witch agrees but tells him the only way she can extend his life is by turning him into a Greywalker (essentially a zombie). He agrees and wakes up stronger but the walking dead. He agrees that after he apologizes to his wife he will end his life. He has five weeks before the desire to eat human flesh will begin to set in.

He finds his wife but instead of ending his life he decides to stay and take care of her. He discovers his love for her and wants to protect her from the occupying army. I love zombie stories and this one was excellent. I loved the ending and it was done perfectly.

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. They are perfect for the season and a must read for anyone who enjoys scary stories. Check it out on amazon.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
