I started Mommy Makes Time with the hopes of giving other moms some great ideas on how to make time for themselves in a world where they dedicate so much of themselves to others. Having a girls night out is a rare treat and something we need to do more often. It’s a perfect way to destress and find something you enjoy doing for yourself.

I love Art and all things related to it (hence the degree). It’s therapeutic and I love it. I was so excited when Painting with a Twist asked us to come and try one of their classes! It was perfect timing for a great girls night after the stress of Thanksgiving.

Painting with a twist is different from some of the other painting classes out there because it’s in a fixed permanent location. You can bring what you’d like for drinks and snacks so it can be more affordable than classes at a bar. It’s also nice because the location is perfectly set up for a successful painting class. There are several televisions throughout the room so you can always see the instructor. There is an assistant walking around as well so you’re never far from help.

The instructor for our class was amazing. He made it fun and not stressful. I take my painting to seriously sometimes but he cracked jokes and made it a fantastic experience. I loved the set up and the laid back atmosphere of the studio. It was a ton of fun for our festive girls night. We chose a Christmas tree painting to help get us in the holiday spirit. I was extremely happy with the way my painting came out and it’s hanging in my living room!
