Now that it’s back to school, it’s time to buckle back down on the healthy eating. I know that the summer gets so easy we don’t always have time to get the healthiest of meal. Many a night was spent by the pool with pizza because it was quicker. With the new school year coming, I want to start on a healthy note.
My three year old LOVES helping out in the kitchen. I wish he loved eating healthy as well. Baby steps. I’m always on the look out for new ideas in the kitchen so I was very excited to get a chance to review this book.
“Kids Cooking Made Easy” is a fantastic book filled with recipes that are easy for little helpers. The authors, Leah Schapira and Victoria Dwek, put together a collection of fun foods kids will love to make. The picture are clear and make you really want to try each recipe. The little “Here’s How!” sections are perfect for novice chefs and older kids. It shows you exactly what they mean in the directions. I found it very helpful to have step by step picture instructions.
We tried several recipes so far including: Penne Rosa, Onion n’ Garlic Popcorn (huge hit) and the Hot Dog Garlic knots. Sounds delicious….tastes even better. Next up for us, Toasted Bow-Tie Chips. The kids are really excited to make these for snack tomorrow. Click here for your own copy of this great recipe book for kids.
