If you have kiddos you’ve probably heard of Laurie Berkner. She’s a huge name in children’s music and someone I’ve admired for years. I’ve worked with young children for a very long time and I’ve been listening to her work for just as long. I remember being a nanny and watching her videos with a little peanut on Nick Jr. That little peanut is now a middle schooler (ya I feel old now). Her catchy music combines entertainment with education in a manner that children can’t get enough of. This special combo has allowed her to provide music for the kid nation for almost twenty years. As a former preschool teacher, she knows the importance of presenting education in a way that kids will love and repeat! I’m streaming one of her new albums now and there aren’t any kiddos around…ya that’s how I spend my evenings (I love it!).
Laurie just released six themed albums for children. Each album features songs from a specific theme which makes life easier for educators (or parents) to plan around. I’m loving that I can use her music in my themed lesson plans without scanning through CD’s. The album set includes: Animal Songs, Classroom Favorites, Food Songs, Movement Songs, Nature Songs and Transportation Songs. The kids loved dancing along to Movement Songs and all the fun that comes with and album full of Animals Songs. I personally love the Food Songs album. I think it’s fun and silly which equal fantastic songs for kids. Who can’t help but be happy with a song called “I Feel Crazy So I Jump In The Soup”. I know that my kiddos got a kick out of it.
Check out this adorable video for “The Cat Came Back”!
You can visit Laurie Berkner’s Website to find out info on this amazing artist. It’s the place to go to find her concert schedule, watch videos, see photos and find her music. You can also download these albums on all digital retailers, including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, and more.! If you really love her music you’re in the right place. One of my lucky fans will be receiving the whole six album digital collection! You can download it to your phone, tablet or any device and take Laurie with you wherever you go! Perfect for that quick kiddo entertainment emergency!!

in the car
I listen to music mostly during my walk home to & from dropping off my daughter from school. For her it’s when I wash her hair, i play music to make it easier
I listen to music most in the car while I’m driving.

Laurie Berkner has been a favorite in our household for many years – her songs are so fun and catchy that my husband and I have been known to sing them – like “Under a Shady Tree, you and me!”
My daughter loves listening to Laurie during her bedtime routine and her favorite song is chocolate.
Around the house doing chores
