Are you a fan of Lego? Are your kids? We totally are huge Lego (well Duplo at this stage) fans and were very excited to get invited to Brick Fest Live in Boston. It was definitely the place to be for all fans of Legos. I had never been to any kind of convention like this so I was really unsure on what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised.
We walked in to a Lego world as far as we could see. Of course there were vendors selling various Lego kits, add ons and all types of Lego merchandise. I was really excited to see some of the crazy Lego creations people had built. I’ve always found it amazing that people can create life size displays out of such tiny blocks. I can’t imagine having the time for that (or the patience).

My kiddos are on the younger side so I was worried that they were going to get bored quickly. Monster had a blast so I would say this would be best for kiddos over 5 (he’s almost five but really loves building). They loved playing on the mini golf course made of Legos and we spent and incredible amount of time in the “Jr Builders” section. Think sand boxes filled with Duplos (the larger Legos made for small children). Monster spent an hour here building with Dad and just having a blast. Lovebug and I ran around (literally) and met the “Lego Guy” as she called him.

The amount of activities they had for older kids was amazing. There was a giant pit of Legos for building, a section to calm down and read, all kinds of amazing building displays and a great exhibit where you build a car and race it. I loved the glow in the dark and black light Legos. They looked really cool. We topped our day off with complimentary popcorn from an old fashioned popcorn maker.

- You can find a Brick Fest Live event near you on their website. They run all summer!
- This event has some things for younger Lego fans but I think that your kiddos in middle school and above would have the most fun (we still had a blast!)
- Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. We didn’t have to wait for any of the exhibits.
- Use your imagination and have a blast!

This looks like so much fun! BrickFest came here, but it was just a bunch of vendors selling minifigures and a bouncy house for the kids. My kids would have had a blast.
