Getting your kids to work on learning can be really tricky. It’s one of those things that you can’t force. As a preschool teacher, I’ve found more success with making learning fun. It’s also fantastic to utilize technology. Kids love their “screen time” so they feel like they’re getting a treat and they’re actually learning. I love Kids Academy Apps for this. Their apps are fantastic and work will with my preschoolers. They are a must have for anyone with small children.

We are loving all the updates made to this app. I’m glad they added more free options to this app (even though purchasing the upgrade is really inexpensive and definitely worth it!) I love that my son can “read” along with the song as he’s watching the adorable animations. It has the same great music but even better options. Music and learning are great partners. My kids love music. Not only does it help them memorize, it helps them with timing and math. This app uses the traditional Bingo song to teach kids letters. It’s really cute and catchy (it will be stuck in my head for a while). The song sounds out the word bingo. The letters are displayed as you sing along. This is a great visual for kids as they are singing. As each scenes go along and a letter is dropped for the song the little characters move throughout the farm. The letters are still up so the kids can still visualize even if they aren’t saying each letter

123 Tracing Numbers: Montessori Math Game for Kids

I love this app. This is perfect for my four year old. He’s mastered the visual identification of numbers and letters and has moved on to writing. He’s an active child so it’s hard to get him to sit still for long. The fact that he gets to play a “game” makes this a fantastic app. He’s learning while having fun collecting fire flies and trying to fill up the jar. It’s encouraging and low pressure (he’s having fun and learning). We enjoyed working on this together.

I used to have this game for my old Iphone and it was a must have when I switched to an android phone. My kids aren’t normally allowed to use my phone but it’s nice to have something for them when they do. The updates they made to this are fantastic. My son always had fun with the letters but we love the number section now. My son knows all his numbers but he’s working on learning to write. The fact that they make a game out of tracing the numbers is fun for him (plus he’s working on his skills so I’m happy).I’m happy with the updates they’ve made since we last played with the app.

Thanks for sharing these apps. My son loves music too- I’ll definitely be downloading the first app you mentioned.
