As I’ve written before, I’m a huge fan of horror stories. I love a good thriller. I can live without the gore but the psychological thrillers…I can’t get enough. Rayne Hall has done it again with a new collection of fantastically terrifying storries. Scared: Ten Tales of Horror is a collection of ten stories that will definately scare you. These tales are collected from various authors and showcase different writing styles and subject matter.

I love the introduction by Rayne. We all have different things that scare us but the underlying idea of fear is common to us all. I love that the stories in this collection use your own imagination against you. In one story, Out of Order a woman is locked in a train bathroom as something horrible happens to the other passengers. She witnesses the brutal clean up of the passengers as a group of men sets the bodies on fire. She over hears them talking about the passengers changing when they touch the blood. The story ends leaving your imagination room to further scare you.

Rayne Hall’s story Druid Stones Kathy is searching for Druid stones when she stumbles upon a sacrifice. She ends up reliving her past and paying for her own desire to not get involved in other people’s business. I loved this story and what it says about people’s desire not to get involved.

If you love scary stories that actually make you think, you’ll love this collection of short stories. It would be a fantastic gift for anyone who loves this genre.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
