All’s Fair in Love and Cupcakes Book Review

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book to facilitate a review. However, all opinions are my own.

Romance novels aren’t normally my genre of choice. However, I’m branching out in an attempt to broaden my book horizon. I have to say I’m now a huge fan. I really enjoyed the story line and the message of this book. I expected a super cheesy story with over the top romantic scenes (like one pictures in a romance novel) and I happily disappointed.

Betsy St. Amant paints a fantastic picture of Kat, a young girl in her early 20’s, works at her aunt’s bakery in Louisiana. She has a degree in business and dreams of using her love of baking to do more. Kat’s best friend Lucas signs her up for a reality cooking show where the prize would be her dream come true.

Like any great story the plot thickens when Lucas realizes his feelings for Kat. Her realization of her dreams would separate them and end the romance before it begins. Love or cupcakes…..

I was impressed with this book. The characters were well developed and the plot moved along quickly once it got going. I found myself invested in the characters and their choices and really liked them (the measure of a good book in my opinion).

It sounds like a great book to read. I love that she has written many books and I love the style of her books too.
