How Many Times Do I Have to Tell You? Book Review

How-Many-Times

Disclosure: I was provided with a copy of this book to facilitate a review. All opinions are my own.

Summary:Rachael Carman knows how noisy it can be when you’re raising children—she has seven! But this lovely devotional book will help you to hear God’s still, small voice amid the chaos of carpools, cut fingers, and carpet crawlers. You’ll learn how to recognize God’s instructions for you, even as you seek to follow His example as a parent.

About the AuthorRachael Carman is an author and speaker for Apologia Educational Ministries. The wife of Davis and the mother of seven children, Rachael challenges parents to live by reckless, obedient faith. As a direct reflection of her heart’s desire to encourage, inspire, and celebrate motherhood, Rachael also leads Real Refreshment Retreats, weekend events that energize and invigorate homeschooling mothers with meaningful worship and speakers plus practical encouragement for the homeschool journey.

My Thoughts I have two children and life is not the easiest these days. My four year old is trying my patience hourly and my one year old is copying everything he does. I’ve tried a lot of different tactics and some have worked (and some have been epic fails). I read this book with an open mind looking for any tips I could use to help my family make it through the terrible fours a little easier. I loved that each chapter ended with “A moment of introspection”. The questions helped you bring the chapter around to your life. Even if you aren’t religious this book has some great tips to help you deal with the trials of raising children.

You can find out more about this book and purchase your own copy at all major bookstores this month. Kindle versions are also available on Amazon.

I definitely love devotionals that help with the parenting aspect. Sometimes it’s so easy to get so angry and let it take over your day and forget to quiet down and see how God wants you to react to the situation and spend time in His word and prayer. It’s good to have reminders and see how God wants us to raise our children.
